I am an Assistant Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Before becoming a faculty, I was a postdoctoral scholar at University of California, Berkeley. Prior to that, I was a postdoctoral scholar at University of California, Davis. I received my Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Riverside, my Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, and my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
My research focuses on four areas: Optimization with a diverse range of applications, energy efficient cloud computing, electric vehicles and electricity markets. These seemingly distinct areas are unified toward boosting the performance of critical infrastructures such as the power gird. In my research, challenging industrial problems are translated into comprehensive analytical problems, for which efficient solutions are proposed.
