OBJECTIVES:  

The course is designed to introduce students to 3D modeling using SolidWorks software and to develop the problem-solving skills utilized to create and modify a product.

 

COMPETENCIES:     

Student can professionally use SolidWorks (3 D modeling software) to prepare and develop multiple parts and assemblies. Formulate the skills to create, modify, and edit solid features.

 

TOPICS:

      This course is 100% computer orientated.  All course topics and activities will be covered using SolidWorks.

      1. Introduction to course: Organizational structure, Material & Text acquisition, Lab procedures

      2. Fundamentals of Part Modeling

      3. Bottom Up Assembly Modeling

      4. Fundamentals of Drawing

      5. Extrude and Revolve Features

      6. Sweep, Loft and Additional Features

      7. Top Down Assembly Modeling

      8. Basic Stress Analysis (FEA).
