Overview
Data used: Marsden and Williams 15th Cometary Catalogue Original orbits of 71 new class 1A comets.
The data show unambiguous evidence of a correlated characteristic of the galactic tide, confirming that the tide dominates in making Oort cloud comets observable.
Since we clearly see this subtle tidal imprint, it shows that the data are sufficiently numerous, sufficiently free of observational bias and are of sufficiently high quality to investigate evidence of a weak impulsive perturbation.
