Tiago Carvalho

My research focuses mainly on the evolution and relationships of Neotropical fishes. As a systematist, I am also interested in the patterns of distribution of South American fishes, examining species range and relationships, applying biogeographic tools to understand them, and trying to infer events that promoted these patterns on the Biota.

At this moment, in my Doctorate, I am studying the relationships of Rhamphichthyiodea, a diverse group of electric fishes in the Amazon basin.
