Frank looked at Audrey from head to toe, wondering how old she was. Possibly thirty or not quite thirty, who cares, she looks good, he thought. He was running out of champagne and he was still feeling lonely. How much more does he need, he wondered. Frank's the new kid around here and he was feeling the lonelines of being in a new place surrounded by strangers. But the news about his money had got around fast from the looks of the pretty faces on these strangers. Frank wondered which one was going to go home with him tonight. He wondered which one would be next to suck him dry.
Audrey was definitely classy and she would be the one he'd pick for sure, but she didn't seem interested, yet. She has beautiful eyes, so honest they seem, so pure. Nice body too. Yea, she's the one for me, he thought, yea, she's it.
Frank remembered his last fling. He thought it was more. He thought it was true love, but Francine broke his heart alright, broke it in two.
He missed Francine. He missed her perfume. Some of his stuff still smells like her."You're too possessive, Frank, I can't take it anymore, I just can't..." her cries still cut through him as if it were yesterday. He couldn't walk the same streets anymore without seeing something that reminded him of her. He had to move. And now he was here, alone and broke. She took everything from him, but the word hadn't got out yet......
