Mini-workshop on the Cuntz semigroup

University of Houston, June 18 - 20, 2018


The Cuntz semigroup of a C*-algebra is a useful tool for investigating the structure of a C*-algebra. It has found manifold applications in the classification program for C*-algebras, e.g., as a way of distinguishing counterexamples and as a classification invariant. These applications have grown hand-in-hand with the development of a "theory of the Cuntz semigroup", which regards the Cuntz semigroups of C*-algebras, and the category of abstract ordered semigroups where these objects belong, as its primary subjects of study. The workshop will focus on the theory of the Cuntz semigrup and its applications.
