Since 2014 the Louisiana Public Archaeology Lab has provided assistance to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with cultural resource management throughout the State of Louisiana. The NRCS provides conservation assistance to its clients through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. Proposed conservation practices involving ground disturbance with the potential to impact cultural resources are investigated through reconnaissance and Phase I cultural resource surveys, in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the NRCS Nationwide Programmatic Agreement for conservation of the environment.
