Deep-sea corals live in the ocean at depths greater than sunlight can penetrate, typically >150 meters, but as deep as 5000 meters! There are hundreds of species of deep-sea coral that come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. They provide habitat for many other invertebrate animals that live on their branches.
