Management

  • Responsible for staffing and leading a summer lifeguard staff of 12 individuals.
  • Coordinated special events, swim meets, swim team, swim lessons, and taught safety classes such as C.P.R., Lifeguarding, First Aid, and A.E.D. training.
  • Produced reports covering annual expenditures and the following year's budget.
  • Created new programs for the community such as arts and crafts and holiday programs.
  • Evaluated personnel performance and established returning employees.
  • Attended Florida Recreation and Parks Association conferences.
  • Adhered to O.S.H.A. requirements.
  • Maintained pool chemicals such as Chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, cyanuric acid and caustic soda.

  • Florida Marine Research Institute, St. Petersburg, Florida; catch and release by use of gill nets, measurements of all caught and few sample organisms were taken of Rhinoptera bonasus
  • City of Clearwater, Clearwater, Florida; neighborhood aesthetic improvement
  • University of Lafayette, Lafayette, Louisiana; care for lab fish: Apternotus albifrons, Astyanax mexicanus, Gymnotus carapo, Gymnotus javari, Sternopygus macrurus
  • National Wetlands Research Center, Lafayette, Louisiana; microscopy of sperm morphology from Catostomus macrocheilus testes removed from several specimens located in the Columbia River, Washington

Development

  • Presented report to City of Clearwater supervisor concerning an alternative pool filter aid that is environmentally friendly versus use of a known carcinogen
  • Constructed pool chemical dosage chart unique to each City of Clearwater pool
  • Recognized, with-in first six months of employment, as employee of the month and, with-in first year, as employee of the year among 300 recreation employees
